The Holocaust Centre believes that to deliver effective education programmes you have to first recognise and remember important lessons of the past.
Through our education work, we use the Holocaust and other genocides to explore the dangers of extremism, divided communities and racism. Our programmes are designed to tackle discrimination, social isolation and persecution and aim to challenge present attitudes and values.
We hope that individuals who attend our programme are inspired to return to their communities and make a positive difference to the lives of their peers.
Of the Berlin street: “At this point, I felt things really clicked into place and the children began to understand day-to-day life for Jews.” The carriage was engaging and poignant; children really got to see what happened in reality, but in a sensitive way.” “The home was atmospheric and children got a real feel for life in Germany in the 1930s.”
